Declining Excitement?

Here is what I know: _______ OK, just joking.

Now that I have my "home base" or "base camp" that I have been praying to receive, I have two of my three storage units emptied and sitting in 1200 sq ft. Now I am thankful and grateful to have my "saved" material objects back into sight, however, I saved more than I have room to display.

For example, five boxes of dining room decor. Not only do I not have a dining room for the first time in nearly 20 years, but I don't have that furniture that displayed all this cool stuff. Yes, every time I touch it "it brings me joy" (sarcastic reference to the chick making millions telling people how to downsize). For now, I will just keep moving it around because the fixer-upper portion of the base camp still needs flooring in the family room. Once painted and new flooring installed, then I will decide what to keep and how to display.

Sold the Mesa park model trailer in less than a week of listing it! "Should have asked more!" is a mantra I have heard from friends. However, it was probably going to need a rubber roof, a new AC unit and other things that I wasn't willing to fix. I would much rather fix a home with increasing resale value than a 40 yr old trailer which depreciates faster than a car. Even the lot rent in Mesa is more than the mortgage in Mountain Home, AR!

Where is the next adventure? Yes, I still have Trippy! She and I will be heading to Hill City, SD, in a few weeks where I will revert back to my bartending years. Only this time, I will be pouring wine for berry wine-tasters. And on days off, I will be hiking and seeing all the tourist stops in western South Dakota. Close to Mount Rushmore and Custer State Park, I am looking forward to the green hills, clean waters and occasional roaring of motorcycles (yes, I miss mine and the magnificent rides) heading to Sturgis.

Stay tuned for pictures of the Central States! So much to see, so little time...

About Me

SueCanDo, named by a dear friend who departed this planet much too young, will strive to be a place for inspiration, clarity and enlightenment. My friend and I  had just reconnected and were having daily emails and weekly conversations that lasted long into the early mornings.

Still hundreds of miles away, I was looking forward to finally spending quality time with him after decades of missing his stories and hugs in person. A brief weekend in April, 2018, confirmed we were going to have many great adventures. Then he had an accident on one of his favorite motorcycles on one of his favorite roads after having just eaten his favorite hamburger at his favorite joint on 101 in northern CA. The shock has worn off, but I still miss what should have been.

So Mike, thanks to you and your "beady brain", here is SueCanDo, even without you the name lives on!

And, these are the Grand Adventures, after the Grand Purge, leading up to quality time with my Grand Babies!! This is a record for them to one day review and laugh with "Gammie"!
