Wednesday, we left Spring, TX, in the truck for NW Arkansas. Good thing as Isabella refused to get back in SueCanDo this morning. Why? I guess she has had enough and we haven't even begun to travel!
Why to NWA? We have to get license plates for the RV in the county of its residence, which will be Washington County, Arkansas, for now. Headed out in rush hour - bad decision - but made it to "Buc-ee's" at exit 143 on Highway 45 still in time for a brisket breakfast wrap! Highly recommend if you are ever in Texas that you do stop at this incredibly large convenience store with 50+ gas pumps.
Note to self - when walking Isabella at truck stops, rest stops or convenience stops, spray open sandaled feet with deet/Off before exiting vehicle. Fire ants are everywhere and the bites hurt!
A few more gas stops and pet walks and checked into LaQuinta on Milshap just after 6pm. Yes, I have a big dog and all my friends have dogs so didn't want to play "let's all just get along", so a hotel we chose. Now Isabella has never been in a hotel, or an elevator, and they put us on the 2nd floor. Really? Dragging a laying down 150 lb dog into an elevator was a treat for all (I bet those other two guys repeat the story the rest of their lives!). So later when she needed to go for a walk, we tried going down two flights of stairs. She is REALLY not happy with me.
This morning she only came back up one flight of stairs and laid down. Another elevator episode happened. But then I went and retrieved her some eggs and a biscuit. Dropped the first plate at the elevator - such a mess. Made it back with the new plate. She is being much nicer to me now.
Just wait until I leave her in the room to go get the license plates (can't leave a dog in a car, ya know???) And the adventure continues... and we aren't even officially on the road with SueCanDo yet!
