The first 3 days...

With everything that has gone right, gone wrong and just not yet happened, it seems I have incurred dozens of experiences of the true RV life, all in the first 3 days!
Drove it from the Express Lube place to the RV Park - Rayford Crossing on Friday, August 10, 2018. Only drove the back end over one curb! And made it through traffic. I believe a sign on the back with a slow moving triangle and the words "Foreign Female Student Driver" will keep people behind me off a safe distance. What do you think?
The RV Park is a resort. Pool, hot tub, shuffleboard, stocked pond, dog park area. For a few dollars more a night you can have a gas grill and umbrella'd picnic table! Not ready for me yet. Did you know some parks don't allow certain "lower class" RV's? I had to a send a picture of my 18 yr old Discovery. Imagine if we had to send pictures of our kids to school before they would be accepted...
Only down side of drive? I didn't have any rear running lights (and of course, no plate yet). But my wonderful brother was following me and it was only dusk. Will fix that tomorrow!
Saturday, Day 1: unloaded my clothes, kitchen gear, bath gear. Yes, my shoes took up 2 drawers! But I still have empty storage bays for you and your belongings if you want to come stay a weekend with me (when I get to a fun place, that is)! Down side of day 1? I couldn't get the septic connected as I was missing a part. First trip to Walmart. And when I connected to City Water, had a fountain coming out the back side.
Sent texts to the seller (who also rents RV units if you need one down here in the Spring, TX, area) who will fix (no additional fees).
Sunday, Day 2: continued to organize. Once unpacked, there is still organization to do so when you move around, everything doesn't shake, rattle and roll (and make clanging musical notes). That will take some more practice.
Isabella decided to go down the doggy ramp but is willing to climb back up the 4 steps! She gets a lot of treats these days as she is learning the "best" way to do this adventure!
Monday, Day 3: drove at 8:30am (rush hour in Houston) the SueCanDo to the windshield glass replacement place. My glass wasn't in as expected. Isabella and I hung out via generator and AC, ate, took a nap. The glass showed up at 11:00am and they started working on it - 103 degrees out there, but a cool 76 in here!
Mobile RV service Mike came over the the glass shop and looked at the running light problems. Wasn't just a fuse (darn it). The entire wiring system was disconnected and missing! Wonder what the previous Mississippi owner was using the rig for? So on his back, crawling under SueCanDo, he ran all new wires to the back of the rig - so now I have running lights.
Seller Josh also made a mobile service call while I was at the glass shop. He started working on the plumbing. It had been cut off, too, like the wiring! Three trips to Lowe's for him and he finally asked me to just drive to Lowe's (glass install was finished by 2:00) in case he needed more parts.
Isabella had company. Josh's sweet, fun wife brought over their two kids just to see "the dog". She used to run a pet sitting service, loves big dogs, and had heard all about Isabella, so they had to come visit.
Drove back to the RV park in afternoon rush hour. Only ran over the curb at Lowe's but everything inside went shaking and rolling! LOL Good thing I wasn't towing my truck behind yet... all is practice at this point. Connected sewer and electric. Still had a small leak at the city water connection. Call big brother "help, I am a girl! what was I thinking???" He will be over in the morning to assist. Can't leave town until I know how to work each little component. Kinda like getting a new stereo system or new TV... once all the connections are made, there still may be more settings to review!
